some questions...

DS is 8 weeks, we swaddle him at night and last night he turned to the side, not all the way onto his stomach but on his side. Is it time to stop swaddling? Should I break it cold turkey or take his arms out first? He's been such a great sleeper Iam worried about this! lol....Also, what should he wear to bed so he doesn't get chilly?
Second question, I've seen lots of posts about jump a roo vs. exersaucer and Iam still torn. Is one better for development? Should I get both? Thanks...
Also, should I get a portable high chair? For those who have it do you use it? Thanks everyone!

I'm not sure about your 1st 2 questions, but I'd def get a portable high chair. We have a little foldable kind that we keep in the car...it's more like a booster seat than a high chair, but we've used it for DD since she was 9 months old. It comes in handy when you go to other ppls houses and there is no high chair for LOT to sit.

Re: some questions...

I dont think you have to stop swaddling until he is rolling over completely when he's not swaddled. I stopped swaddling my DS cold turkey at around 3 months when he was rolling over both ways. He continued to sleep well bc at that point he became a belly sleeper. Maybe that will happen with your DS too!!

As far as exersaucer vs jumparoo.... I used an exersaucer and the door way jumper for my DS. He loved both and it was nice to switch it up. He never used a walker though.

I never used a portable high chair.

Re: some questions...

As the others have said, you don't have to stop swaddling until the baby is fully rolling over. If you want to try stopping now, you can leave 1 arm out and see how he does. But 8 weeks is still early to stop swaddling. I'd give it a few more weeks and then try 1 arm out. DS actually slept better once we stopped swaddling him, but he was a little bit older. But if your son is a great sleeper, there's no reason to stop now!

Once you stop swaddling, I'd recommend getting a few sleep sacks. They are sleeveless so I put DS in a long sleeve onesie and the sleep sack.

We have an exersaucer at my parents house and a jumperoo at our apt. They are slightly different, but it really just depends on your child's preference. You can start using either at around 4 months.

Instead of a portable highchair, we got DS the Eddie Bauer pop-up booster. I think he'll be able to use it longer and it takes up almost no space.
