Some people are so inconsiderate
I finally went shopping for new jeans today since I only have two pair that fit. I took DS with me in the stroller because otherwise I'd just be chasing him all over the store and get no shopping done. I finally found about six pair to try on and headed to the fitting room. There seemed to be no one in there - there is one handicapped / mom with strollers stall with a curtain and about a dozen tiny ones with doors. I try to go into the one with the curtain and there is a woman in there trying on dresses. She is about a size zero, no stroller, no wheelchair or cane or anything. I had to squeeze DS and myself into one of those tiny stalls and attempt to try on jeans too. It just annoys me that this tiny little person needed that big stall and didn't think anyone else might need it. OK - vent over.

I would have politely asked her to move. What if you had been in a wheelchair? What a moron.

I hate that. They are the same people who crowd the elevators when there is an escalator or stair near by.

Re: Some people are so inconsiderate
You're both wrong. It would have been "easier" for you to use the handicap stall but really, did either of you NEED it. She, like you, walked in to an empty area and thought she wouldn't be inconveniencing anyone.

Re: Some people are so inconsiderate
I have found that sometimes the sales associate will put you into one of those larger rooms if you have a lot of stuff to try on and the store is quiet, so maybe she was put in there.
I would have waited for it as I know how difficult it is to squeeze into a changing room with a stroller and to try on.

Re: Some people are so inconsiderate
I just to give you the "non-mom" point of view
when ever I go shopping- I like to be in the large try on room and yes- when I have a ton of bags- I take a handicap bathroom
it has never caused a issue- ever
none of these things are inconsiderate- unless I cut in front of someone who needs it more then myself- then that's messed up- but if all the rooms are empty- I am taking the largest one- I most likely have 20 things to try on, shopping bags (and no stroller to rest them on)
just my point of view-

Re: Some people are so inconsiderate
I've got a double stroller and cannot physically fit it inside regular sized fitting rooms. If the big one's taken, I wait patiently. Very rarely are people in the rooms for an extended period of time. IMO, the person probably didn't think she was inconveniencing anyone. I know that I've done that before having children without a second thought.

Re: Some people are so inconsiderate
Those aren't really "stroller" fitting rooms. They are handicapped fitting rooms. Same with the bathroom stalls. Unfortunately it's the only thing the strollers fit it, but it's not fair to a handicapped person that really needs it. When I'm alone, I do not go in the larger stalls. When I have the strollers, I'm guilty of going into the larger one, but I try to hurry in case someone that actually has a true need for it comes along.

Re: Some people are so inconsiderate
Those are the same people that use the "Expecting Mom/Mom with Kids" spaces at the mall and I see them walking to their cars... not preggo, no kids in tow. They are lazy and rude.

Re: Some people are so inconsiderate
As someone who has taken a handicapped friend clothes shopping, I never use a handicapped dressing room or bathroom if I don't absolutely have to. Someone in a wheelchair needs every inch of the space in those dressing rooms and waiting for a bathroom stall can be more than just an inconvenience for her.
