How many tries did it take for your LO to always swallow their oatmeal?!
we started oatmeal last night, DS was confused at first, then kept opening his mouth when the spoon was coming! But his little tongue spit more out than let get to his tummy! A few spoons definitely when right down tho!
Update: day 2 was total success. Not even a drop on the bib! Loved it!

We skipped baby foods and went straight to soft table foods. All 3 kids were between 6.5- 8 months when they were ready. They never pushed any food back out.

oh good! that's what I thought was the case! He definitely seemed to be starting to get the concept as we were going along! Thanks!

How old is he? Sounds like his tongue thrust is still strong, which is an indicator that he's not ready for solids yet.

4 months... he started getting it down some of the spoons towards the end. It can't hurt to try, so we will try again and see. He is definitely interested!
ETA: I was just reading up more and they say it normally takes a few days to a week sometime before they get it down and to keep trying!
