Solids - Food Amount Question

Just wondering how much and how often your baby is eating solids. Emerson is just about 5 1/2 months and below is her typical day with regards to eating. What do you think? Too much? Too little? She is always very satisfied after she eats throughout the day so I think she's eating plenty but I want to make sure it's not too much. Thanks! Chat Icon

Early Morning - 7oz. formula bottle followed by 4 tsp. cereal mixed with formula and about a 1/3 of a jar of fruit

Late Morning - 7oz. formula bottle

Afternoon - 7oz. formula bottle followed by 4 tsp. cereal mixed with formula and about a 1/3 of a jar of veggie

Night - 7oz. formula bottle

*She's in bed asleep by 8 and wakes up around 7am*

Re: Solids - Food Amount Question

DS is also 5.5 months

Very early bottle (3 AM) 5 oz

Morning bottle (7AM) 5 oz

2 tbsp cereal and half jar fruit around 10 AM

Bottle (12 ish) 5 oz

Bottle (5 Ish)

Cereal and veggie 7 PM

Bottle (btwn 8-10 PM) 5 oz

His fruits and veggie schedule is not set in stone because sometimes my inlaws don't feed him, and sometimes DS falls asleep before I can feed him his dinner

Re: Solids - Food Amount Question

this is ds schedule he is about 7 months, but we have been doing this since 6 months.

8am 7oz bottle
9am cereal and stage 1 fruit
12 7-8 oz bottle
1-2 stage 2 cereal and fruit jar
5 7 oz bottle
6 chicken/veg puree, or chicken veg jar
8 2 oz bottle

so as you can see he is eating alot of solids...i don't think you are overfeeding your dc

No I don't think that is too much. Daniel is getting more than that so I hope that Emerson isn't getting too much! That would mean DS is a chunky monkey!

7am 8oz bottle
8-9am 5 teaspoons cereal and one jar of fruit
11am-12pm 8oz bottle
4pm-5pm 8oz bottle
7pm 5 teaspoons cereal and one jar of veggie
7:30pm 6-8oz bottle
8pm in the crib for bedtime
