you don't have to start with any certain colors or go in any orders IMO.
I make my own baby food so I don't knwo what stage 2 food is.
Around 7-8 months, we started chunkier textures and around 8-9 months we started some table food. By 10.5 months all table food.

I didn't go in any particular order. I looked at the stage one foods for ideas and started with homemade squash, banana, sweet potato, avocado, applesauce, peas.
I think you can give stage 2 any time as long as there's only one new ingredient. Since you want to wait a few days between new foods, it takes a while for them to be introduced to a lot of different things.

You don't have to start with any certain color. Some people follow that but many do not. Give whatever you feel like.

Re: solid foods... colors?
Every pediatrician says something different. At DD's 4-month appointment, her pediatrician gave us a list of fruits and veggies that he was okay with DD starting. He did not care about the order. These included apples, bananas, squash, carrots, sweet potato, pears, peaches, apricots, plums, and grapes. At her 5 month appointment, he gave the go ahead for peas, string beans, zucchini and some other things.

Re: solid foods... colors?
I never went in any order, went back and forth between introducing a fruit and a veggie. Never paid attention to color. After I went through all the Stage 1 foods I went right to Stage 2 and then around 6 months.......table foods.
