I know this is going to sound mean aka probably is mean but do you REALLY think that old 80's wall unit is worth $150???
If I were you I would put it on Craigslist for free just in the hopes that someone would dismantle and remove it for me.
I'm just surprised at what some people think.
A great example is an apartment we once rented before we were married that had a wall covered in this horrible beveled/ designed mirror. The thing was all loose and falling apart. We offered to take it down and repair/repaint the wall at our own expense. The landlord (a nice old woman but I guess a bit out of touch) said, "Are you crazy? I paid $2000 for that in 1974".
So, while that wall unit may have been a piece of furniture to revere 30 years ago (and probably even cost a pretty penny)- unless it is actually some sort of "antique" (which- let's face it- it's not) I think you may be waay overestimating the value!

I agree with headoverheels. How abt you say nothing if your not interested. Maybe a different approach if you cant help yourself from saying something. I think if she doesn't get any bites then she will figure it out herself.

Ever consider that maybe I just call it as I see it? That I just don't need to sugar coat my opinions? That I don't find it necessary to act like/ respond like many of the people on this forum typically do?
I think the OP is crazy for thinking that junky old 80's unit is worth something. Sorry you can't just swallow that pill. Get over it. Not every statement that isn't kittens and rainbows means that the person making the statement leads some kind of sour existence.

I, for one, really appreciate your opinion on my mother's junky old 80's unit. As I'm sure the person who went to her house this morning to see it does. In case she hasn't read this, I will let her know when she comes with her husband's truck to pick it up on Wednesday. Also, I think it will be helpful to let the bank teller know when my mother deposit's the $150. After I'm done with that, I'll be sure to check in here and ask for your opinion whenever I make decisions to do things, because clearly I'm not able to make my own decisions without your help. So, I'd just like to say thank you for all of your help. You've made an incredible impact on my life and I plan to embrace and live by these rules on a go forward basis!!!
