it's not designer- it's from the Metropolitan collection Chat Icon

there are two pretty good reviews, but it makes me nervous when someone says "A great sofa with style for shoppers on a budget or to use in a secondary sitting room" i plan to use this as the main living room set

To me that would mean the quality isn't that great and probably won't hold up to major wear and tear.
Basically " looks good but don't actually use it"

I think you coudl do better at a clearence center or ikea
by the time you pay to ship the thing it's not going to be worth it

a sofa is the one thing you are going to use the most besides a bed- I don't think this one will last 2 years

Re: Sofas from Target?

If you don't have kids (or pets I guess though I don't have pets so I really don't speak from experience on that one), you should be fine.
But kids will probably wreck it unless it's super sturdy.

Re: Sofas from Target?

Go to a clearance sale and get a better piece before spending that money. The furniture probably won't hold up in a main living room where you sit on it every day.

Re: Sofas from Target?

I like it! We don't have a Target sofa, but we got other furniture from there and it held up well. We checked out clearance centers when we were looking for sofas and everything was a really funny color and mismatched...

I would also check out Jennifer Convertibles. I bought my first sofa there 12 years ago. I only used it for about 2 years and then I gave it to a friend. She's STILL using it!! They always have sales and I think something from there would last longer than the Target sofa.

OK - i have to say that I feel REALLY old now that I just said that I bought my first sofa 12 years ago...YIKES!! Chat Icon

Check out Overstock.com or homedecorators.com if you haven't already. You can't beat Overstock's shipping and I've been pretty happy with the stuff I got from them.

I think Target furniture is a step up from Ikea, not by much though. I would checkout Macy's Furniture Clearance Center in Carle Place. They usually have some good finds.

How is the stuff on home decorators? I just saw the website last night and it looked nice.

It's pretty decent but most of the wood they use is pine so it's a little soft. But personally, I'd rather have real wood that's soft than veneers so it's okay.
