SodaStream questions
So DH and I are thinking about getting the Sodastream setup but I have some questions for anyone who has it.
-Which machine do you have and why did you pick it?
-How often do you need to get a new carbonation bottle?
-So far I've seen the flavors being sold at BBB for $6.99 and at Office Max for $4.99. Anywhere else that sells it?
-How exactly does the process work? Do you make an entire bottle at one time or do you make a single serving cup every time you want a drink?

Re: SodaStream questions
Not sure but I bought this for my dad for Christmas and he wants to return it he said it doesn't taste good, too sweet. Could be just him because so many people on here love it.

Re: SodaStream questions
DH and I just got one as a Christmas gift. You make one-liter bottles at a time. I don't drink soda at all - so I just use it to make seltzer and am loving it so far.
DH uses it to make soda. He said if he uses the full packet - it's too sweet. He does about half a packet at a time and likes it much better that way.

I thought this too but then after doing a little reading up about it, I use less syrup. Now my Diet Coke tastes like Diet Coke, not super sweet at all. Once you get the hang of how much to use to suit your taste, it works great!

Genesis -- it was the only one at BBB at the time.
The plastic bottles are good for 2-3 years.
Haven't seen any cheaper than $4.99 but it says each bottle makes = to 33 cans of soda which is still cheaper than buying a 12 pack! I think it also depends on the flavor; some flavors are more expensive.

Re: SodaStream questions
We have it. I got it for DH for Christmas. I really like and didn't think I would. We get the stuff from Best Buy or Bed Bath and Beyond. I don't know how long the CO2 lasts yet because we've only had it a week.
I really like the pink grapefruit flavor!

Re: SodaStream questions
Got it last year for xmas from BJs. We have the soda stream one. I only use it for carbonated water (seltzer), we aren't soda drinkers.
