So what is a good way to "rectify" the situation?
Understand my baby got sick from this.
When I dropped DS off at daycare today we were out of yobaby yogurt so I went to the local King Kullen and picked some up. Well, when I went to pick up DS they told me he had eaten the yogurt, then later on snubbed dinner and 10 min later threw up 2x. After he threw up he was fine but when I got him home he was out of it so I put him to bed. I go and look at the yogurt and it expired 9/24. Today is the 29th...5 days. Ok, so I can admit my stupidity in thinking that they wouldnt have expired dairy on the shelf, especially stuff thats fed to babies. However, 5 days expired just seems negligent to me. I could understand 1 or 2 days, but 5? So I called the store and they said they would do whatever I wanted to rectify the situation since a baby had gotten sick.
The logical side of me says just get a refund, call corporate (cause really that shouldnt have been on the shelf), and never shop there again. The emotional mommy lion wants free food for a year (from a different KK of course).

my DH is a manager for a large supermarket and said this should have NEVER happened... thats way too long past expiration, you can call and speak with store director or call corprate, and ask for a refund and possible something free!

I have eaten "expired" yogurt a bunch of times. The date on it is the "sell by date" and each state has a different date. For example, in NYC the expiration date on milk is 4-5 days earlier then the rest of the state.
Your son could have just had a bug too!

Don't feel shameful...get Whatever you can...that Shouldn't have been on the shelf whether is was the yogurt or not (that got your baby sick) and you deserve something for this.
I would definitely COMPLAIN and try to get some free food for compensation.
On another note I hope you baby feels better

Honestly, unless there were signs of spoilage, it most likely wasn't from the yogurt. It stinks that they had it on the shelf still, but as far as I know, it's actually safe to eat for sometime after. MAYBE i'd try and get a refund, but to me it's not worth the headache. Hopefully your LO feels better soon :(
