So we're up on MLS, doing a FSBO, Not happy
We decided to do a FSBO for both my house and my parents house (my brother is a realtor and we didn't want to have to use him)
We paid a service fee of $400 for both houses.
The guy posted our house last week, it didnt have pictures for days, then he decided not to use the pictures I sent him and took ones off the website we're linking too- which is fine except I didnt choose them and would not have and he didnt have the apartment which is legal in the listing, so it didnt say 2 kitchens, 2 stoves etc..
So we finally get our pictures up, and the mailbox when you call the number isn't set up, then it is after I bothered him a few times about it and it has messages going nowhere. FINALLY he sets it up so the mailbox says to call my cell phone. It took him 6 days from posting date for both houses to get to this point. Actually I'm not sure Dix Hills is even set up right yet.
Anyway, DH house has had 7 showings within the first 2 days going on MLS and has 2 return showings tomorrow. Stony Brook- none. Housing market...yes I know.
He still hasn't changed a few things on my listing like we have OIL not GAS, misspelling in the desciption..I know there are others.
My parents in Dix Hills MLS 2180940 dix hills
Us in Stony Brook MLS 2180534Stony Brook
Do you think I should cancel with him due to the crappy service?

Honestly... you are getting on the MLS for only $400 dollars.
I wouldn't expect spectacular service for paying next to nothing and not having a RE involved.
But with that said, I would fully expect them to correct these errors.

Is the guy getting anything besides the $400? If I remember correctly, when we were selling our condo FSBO, it was a flat fee to list on MLS, plus 1-2% for whatever agent was "assigned" to it.

Thanks everyone, I guess you're right. Its just stressful and frustrating when you're selling..as with anything you just want everything to go right
Karen, we used mlsisland..I dont think they get a percentage, but I will have to check the papers I signed now!

Saw your mom's house on Listingbook.com this morning. That should also get you tons of exposure.
