So weird, my coffee maker stopped working
I have this coffee maker
I got in 2002 at my bridal shower. I use it every single day.
Today, I set it up as always turned it on-the light came on and nothing happened. I checked the dials to make sure it wasn't on the timer setting.
The water isn't moving & the base ins't getting hot!
So friggin weird! I'm DYING for my morning cup of coffee right now before I go outside to clean up the snow.
Has anyone had this happen? Is there something I can do to fix it?
I love this coffee maker and it looks like the price is much lower now. I guess I'm going to bed bath & Beyond later to get a new one.

This happened to me too but we had a delonghi coffee maker. I got in touch with the company and because the coffee pot was over a year old it wasn't under warranty anymore and they could not help me. I will not buy another delonghi product b/c of this (the coffee maker was a little over a year old).
I would get in touch with cuisnart and see what they say!

It may have just run it life span... 8 years is pretty good for a coffee maker used everday! BUT even so.....
Cuisinart customer service is awesome... my sister had an few year old appliance that broke, they stopped making it so could not replace it, but let her pick anything else she wanted and sent her a credit to pay for it. Call them and give it a try!

lol ours stopped too...but we have an electric peculator used it everyday for 2+ years...it won't stop brewing and it burns the coffee.

I have a Mr. Coffee and it just stopped working mid brew. Ours wasn't expensive so we replaced it.

I had a Braun coffee maker that made the best coffee but it died the same way you described. I actually just got the same coffee maker you show as a replacement since you can't find Braun anymore. I hated it for the first week - funny flavor to the coffee, but 2 cycles with vinegar and two clear water helped that. It's better now, but not as good as my Braun was.
They do have a $10 rebate on them right now at BBB so on top of the discount, you get another $10 back.

Sign up for Gevalia - They will send you a stainless steel coffee machine and some coffee. Then cancel it and you get the coffee machine for free. I have one in my garage. My sis loves her Gevalia - She has been using it for years

i had a very similar one for a few years...when I asked at bed bath and beyond about it they said to bring it back and they replaced it.
it was on my wedding registry.

we had the same problem (cuisinart as well) call them they'll send you a new one. All you have to do is the return the broken one to them.

I was just going to suggest this. BBB is great about taking items back especially if it's on your registry. I had a dust buster that died no box or anything and they just looked it up and gave me credit towards a new one.

Thanks for all of the replies! I called cuisinart and the told me to try the vinegar/water flush. So I'm letting it sit in the tank now. They told me since mine is so old the will not replace it but they offered me a discount on a new one.
I will let you know if the flush works!

I was just going to say try the flush, that's what happened to ours from the hard water buildup.
