I was worried about DS sleeping through the night and in the same room as us. Well he has been sleeping great at night but we have another problem. Everyone here holds him all the time and he is so whiney when my family is around because he wants to be held and won't sit and play like he did at home. My parents don't like to hear him cry but he only cry's because he will crawl over to them kneel and put his hands up then start crying. My grandmother agrees with me that they hold him to much and my DH is getting annoyed. It's not like they went from hardley seeing him to seeing him all the time, we lived 5 minutes from them. Anyone else have this problem and how do I rectify it.

Why would you want to rectify lots of positive attention for your son? He is learning that grandma and grandpa pick him up, not that you'll always pick him up. I say sit back and let them enjoy him, you'll be fine after a day or two when you are back on your own.
