So this weekend made me realize that I'm old

This weekend I realized I am no longer a spring chicken. I'm more of an clucking hen these days. Chat Icon

We trekked into the city on friday after work and drank non-stop from 3pm-1:30am. We didn't get home until 3:30am. Slept in reasonably late on saturday but made another journey into brooklyn for a party and drank some more. I didn't even get out of my pajamas yesterday and I'm still exhausted. Chat Icon

I miss the days where I only needed a few hours of sleep to recuperate only to wake up and get ready for another night of partying. I'm so mad at myself for being old. Chat Icon

i was just talking to an old college friend about that -- how we used to drink GALLONS and gallons and still make it to class on just 2 hrs of sleep and likely still drunk. Chat Icon

now -- i have a few glasses of wine and i'm starting to yawn and get tired.

ahhh the stamina of my late teens and early 20's seem soooooooo far away!

I can't even remember the last time I drank and got drunk. That's how old *I* am. Chat Icon

I used to ride overnights (11pm to 7am) at the ambulance corps, wake up out of a sound sleep to respond to alarms in the middle of the night, and be at work by 9 the next day.

That was a decade ago. I couldn't do it now.

OH yeah! People used to talk about it when I was younger and I was like- yeah right- that will never happen to me.
It is amazing what age does to you when it comes to drinking/partying and your stamina. SOOOO SAD! Chat Icon

omg people used to say this to me too, they would say things like just wait til your older you wont be able to pull all nighters anymore.

Now if i stay up late it kills my entire day
I used to stay out til 6am every nite of the week, and sleep a couple hours and then keep going.

Yup, 10pm'er here too. I get embarrassed telling people that because I do get laughed at. Chat Icon What can I say? I'm also up at 5:45 each morning and at work at 6:45.
