So remember on Tuesday I posted about...
How I was laid off at work, well guess what....yesterday morning I was told that I am UN-laid off. Flucking great. Thanks powers that be.
I was in a reduction pool, 5 of us going down to 3, one of my colleagues who was successful through the assessment process basically told the boss to take this job and shove it, therefore automatically giving me the job, and backing me into a really tight corner at the moment. No redundancy money, I only have the choice to resign if I do not want to stay....
Needless to say, I am not best pleased. To put it lightly, I am absolutely fuming mad...and there is nothing I can do...I have been treated like one big fat piece of proverbial poopoo.

I would try to focus on the positive-you are so good at it.
You have a job, you know you can do it, and you know where you stand with them so you when the economy starts to pick up you can start looking for something new.

Re: So remember on Tuesday I posted about...
Sorry, I am glad that I have a job in this economy and everything. But I was looking to change my life and probably leave anyway, this was just a good way for me to cut the cord, and get some money to boot. I called HR and made a fuss purely because this has been a 90 day consultation, and we waited for weeks to hear anything, and communication was terrible, and we are an HR company that preaches to our clients about best practice, candidate experience etc, and they weren't able to provide that level of decency to their own employees (etc)
Their main objective is to keep their employees in employment etc, so its legal, they found me a job and I should be happy...completely legal. Not nice to be told one thing and yet another, but legal.
And again, I am super lucky to have a job. But this was going to be a real kick in the butt to make a change for me.

ugh that sucks.... so, they are not giving you a choice? Why can't one of the other laid off people be offered the job in your stead? they should really give you an option-- can you tell them that you have since made arrangements which can't be undone?
