So I tried a gold shadow...
and I LOVE IT!!!!!
I have very fair skin so I wasn't sure how it would look. Ulta had their own brand of shadows on sale - 3/$10. so I bought this gold color called "gold leaf" and used it yesterday for the 1st time on my lids. It’s not a bright gold, it’s got a little bit of bronze in it.
it felt good to step out of my neutrals!
and IMO, for the price, Ulta shadows are very nice quality. it stays put all day.

I am very fair and also love gold shadow. It's hard to find the perfect gold--I've tried some darker ones that look awful on me.
I switched to Bare Escentuals shadows because the cheaper brands wear off or tend to sit in the crease of the lid by the end of the day. I think my lids are somewhat oily, so they wear off. The powder ones stay put on me.

Re: So I tried a gold shadow...
Beth, is there a particular gold BE shadow that you like? I tried a few in the bronze /coral family & and they were too dark, so I haven't gone back (although I wear other BE products.)
I just bought a goldish L'Oreal shadow, but I haven't tried it yet.
(I don't live near an Ulta, but maybe I'll try their shadows when I'm on LI.)

My gold shadow isn't actually BE. I like L'Oreal HIP eye shadow though--I have this one and really like it. The name is saucy. If I put on too much, I just put a lighter shadow over it to lighten. I like having the darker color for the crease.
