so I just bought my first........
sewing machine!! I decided to buy one b/c I'm 5'3 and I feel like almost every pair of pants I buy I have to get hemmed, sooooooo I'm going to attempt hemming myself!! hopefully I don't sew the 2 pant legs together, that would s*ck!!
anyone else use a sewing machine, or have any tips? I bought a Brother machine with 35 stitch patterns.
wish me luck!! I'll be attempting to channel my Betsy Ross skills today!

Good luck! My Nana was a seamstress/dress maker back in the day. How I wish I had even a drop of her talent.

yea my grandma was a great sewer/seamstress, but she lived in Finland so I didn't get to learn from her as much as if she was here  my mom is domestically challenged, so she didn't learn from her either
I read that using a sewing machine is easy, that's why I took the plunge! I'll keep you guys posted after I try it out later!

I asked for one for Christmas last year because of the same thing! Except I'm 5'7" and I still need to hem all my pants because I have super short legs!!
 THe sewing machine is packed away and I never learned how to use it yet

I use to use it in school they showed us how to use a sewing machine to make things...My mom use to have the singer machine.. I loved it!!!
