So, I have a stupid ?
What do you use receiving blankets for?
I registered for them and get alot at my shower, they are beautiful.
But I was thinking today, what are they really used for if they are not regular blankets?

Swaddling and/or tucking them in around DC when they are in the car seat/swing/etc. There's probably other things you can use them for too but I hear you will certainly need them!

It's just weird, I never questioned it before, but I was thinking what do I use all these receiving blankets for?
I washed a wholel bunch to have to ready for when the baby comes.

I agree. And spit up...lots of spit up. I had a big spitter upper and it always went over the burp cloths...so I would drape those over me.

I use them to swaddle Kristina in, and when she was in her car seat, I would put one of the thermal ones on top of her first then a fleece blankie to make sure that she stayed warm....

At the beginning we used them for everything, to cover DS in the carseat, to sleep with, for spit up, just about everything.
Now at 9 months we barely use them...but they are totally worth it at the beginning, plus DS fell in love with a specific "blankie" and we now have four of those
