Re: So I failed the 3 hour.
I have GD (failed the 3 hr as well), and honestly, after getting over the initial being pizzed about it, it's not awful. You will eat alot healthier and feel better in the end!
What kind of info are you looking for?
Has your OB referred you to a Diabetic Nutrionist yet? That's usually the first step. You would meet with a Nutrionist, and they will go over with you info about GD, your diet, give you a sample meal plan and a budget for how many carbs/proteins, etc you should be eating with each meal, plus snacks. They will also go over with you how to test your blood (you will need to do this 4 times per day).
They will probably monitor your glucose numbers/diet for a couple of weeks. If your numbers are within range, then they will just tell you to continue what you are doing. If not, depending on how off they are, they will recommend either an oral medication (Glyubide - I'm on 1/2 pill at night because my fasting numbers were always too high), or if your numbers are really high, they may recommend going on insulin.

Re: So I failed the 3 hour.
thank you that is pretty much what I was wondering. They are sending me to an endrocrinologist and the nurse said she will put me on diet and to check my sugar. My numbers werent off by a lot she said just enough to be considered GD
