So I broke up with an OB
and he called me last night to ask me why. I lied and said it was b/c I preferred a female doctor, but really it was b/c he was pushing the CVS test on me when I didn't want it, and he told me I was having twins, when I'm not (he admitted to reading someone else's file). 
So he's going on and on and telling me there are female OBs in his practice that I can see and that "because you are HAVING TWINS you should be with a high-risk practice".
At that, I let the niceties drop, and I said, very firmly "Dr. X, for the SECOND TIME, I am NOT having twins!"
He was so embarrassed. I am so glad to be done with him.

Sounds like the right decision! I wouldn't let that man touch me again! He can't even get the correct patient straight!

That's incredible!
I switched Dr.'s in the beginning too! Best choice! Sounds like it's the same for you-someone else's chart! I'd freak out on them!

LOL...how unprofessional of him to call you! I broke up with my OB several weeks ago and I couldnt be happier! He too was pushing for an amnio (Im 34 and have a child with Down Syndrome) and he just wouldnt take No for an answer...I couldnt handle the stress!

that is almost as bad as my original dr. who couldn't even get my due date within the right MONTH. some doctors....
hopefully you find/have found a new dr. who realizes you aren't having twins and things are much smoother from here on out!!

He sounds like a wacko!!!!!
My doctor accurately remembers details from my fibroid surgery--a surgery that I had before I went to his practice. He has the report and he reviews my file before every visit and phone call. I'd be shocked if he mixed me up with anyone else. He takes too many precautions for that to happen.

I would be worried he mixes my file later on. What is he decided to do a tubal ligation because he read it in someobody else file? Scary!!!!
