So, how are the shopping crowds today?
I told my niece I would take her out this afternoon so she could buy a gift for my BIL & SIL -- just wondering what I'm in for.

DH was just out and he said it was crazy. Lots of traffic and long lines at the stores!

I live three miles from the Smithaven Mall. It took me 20 minutes to get to Michaels and Petco on Route 25. I made the mistake of pulling into the mall parking lot by Macys to possibly find a spot and go in. Took me another 10 minutes just to get OUT of the parking lot.
It's like lawlessness. People parking on curbs and snow drifts, making rights on red everywhere, gridlock in intersections.
What was I thinking? Crazy. I'm glad I'm home now.

I know i'm no help, but I went to Roosevelt Field at 8:30 this morning, and it was a breeze. No chaos in the parking lot, no lines, no crowds.
Maybe if you go later tonight it will be more calm. Not too sure about that though since today is the last weekend day til christmas.
Good luck...I experienced the craziness yesterday and never want to do that again!

just got back from walt whitman....very crowded today but worth the sales.
(everything in limited is an extra 40% off....I bought myself a christmas outfit  )

I went and just got back from Gateway Plaza in Patchogue. I ran into Marshall's - what a nightmare - the store was ransacked, the customers were rude - it was nuts. Then I went into Ulta - very crowded but the line moved fast. As for the parking lot - that was another disaster.

Toys R US in Holbrook was a mad house. There were no shopping carts. The lines were crazy.
