So discouraged....
These last 2 weeks are torture. I'm so uncomfortable and I feel like I'm just sitting twiddling my thumbs now. Everything is done and we are SO ready for this little guy to make his debut. My DH's paternity leave starts this Friday and I'm very much looking forward to having him home with me but I'm nervous that I'll go past my due date and he'll have to go back to work soon after we're home. He can't change the dates he's already taken off. I see my OB today and I almost dread going because if she says that there has been no progress made, I feel like I'll burst into tears. I'm an emotional trainwreck. My mother calls every day to check in and I feel so snippy with my answers. I know  will come when he's ready but this wait is just torture.
Sorry for the vent. Just having one of those days

i imagine this is pretty hard on you - i know i would go crazy waiting and not knowing!
you live in MA right? is there anywhere you can go just to walk around and get your mind off things? i hope your LO makes his appearance soon!!

I am due Saturday and there is no signs of coming any time soon. I guess there is one good reason I am still working - it helps occupy the time. I also get snippy with my mom and grandma. They call me non-stop to see my status. I yelled at them that Ray would call them when I go into labor and in the meantime leave me alone!

This is exactly how I feel! It's as if they feel like we'll just deliver and not tell anyone. Believe me, when all systems are go- we'll call! Ugh, it's beyond obsession.

Hang in there. I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel. I'm frustrated and I'm only 33 weeks!
Maybe start working on some of the old wives tales to get a jump start on things. Up and down stairs sideways, long walks, BD, primrose oil, eggplant, etc.

I dont have any words of advice but know you are not alone! I was miserable my last 2 weeks , I made no progress, and I cried in the Drs office at my 39w5d appt!

Those end days are no fun at all. Everyone and their grandmother calls 100 times a day to hear if you've had the baby yet....don't they think we would call if there was anything going on at all?? 
I was 12 days late so I completely understand your frustration!!

I feel your pain too, i'm due next tuesday and NOTHING....i go to doctor again tomorrow, and i just feel like i can already predict what the doctor will say....that i'm not dialated or enfaced...
The other day i had some menstrual pains and i was so excited (but it turned out to be nothing)....so sad.
Oh well, guess we have no choice but to be patient, hang in there...

Laura...I'm so there with you! I can't even tell you how much reading your post reminded me of my life right now!! I could have written it myself! Everytime I call my mom she says...is it time? As if I didn't call her once a day for my ENTIRE life! And I'm so bored...even though I'm still working...it seems like everyday is five times longer than normal!! And if another person walks into this dance studio and says 'oh...you're still here' I'm going to punch them!!!! And I feel like everyone that is due this month is going or progressing, but not me! (Although this is not true!) And DH is already off and getting everything done...but like you said everyday means one day closer that he has to go back once the baby is born!!!!!

I completely understand where you are coming from. My last day is Friday and all I keep thinking about is just sitting home waiting to go in labor which I know will make anyone crazy!
Hang in there, it will be all over before you know it
Just curious, why can't your DH start paternity leave as of the day you go in labor? Does he have to start before you give birth?

the waiting is so hard! just think, you're baby is still getting ready to enter the world and will be worth the wait! walks, reading books or magazines (no time after baby comes!), getting pedicures, etc. all help a little.
