So disappointed
I had my HSG this month and everyone said that I had a better shot at getting pregnant right afterwards. Well that got my hopes up so high that I was extra devastated today when AF came. Why is this not happening? Have an appointment with east coast tomorrow to start talking IUI. How successful is this?

Re: So disappointed
I'm sorry. I just did my 4th IUI a couple of days ago. I have heard that it raises your chances 20%? I'm not sure how accurate that stat is though.

Re: So disappointed
i thinkt raises your chances minimally, like 4p. Can't remember the actualy. I did 9 and none worked for me so I moved on to ivf.

Re: So disappointed
i think it increases the odds if your DH has sperm issues, but otherwise it only increases the chances like 8%...we still did it even though DH had no issues...we unfortunately didn't get pregnant..we were hoping to do injectables this cycle but i have a cyst on my left ovary from clomid...sooo hopefully next cycle we will do injectables and IUI...good luck!

Re: So disappointed
Your chances are increased, in comparison to natural TTC, I think it is around 15-20%.
I remember the same feeling when AF came after my HSG. You get your hopes up and then have to deal with the sadness of it not working out. Hopefully your IUI will be a success and you will not have to deal with anything else. But as our treatment progressed, and we kept hearing how our chances keep going up, I started to tune it out and not become so hopeful and rely on what I was told, it made it easier when it did not work out. This is jmo, and I do not want this to sound crude or negative, but just offering some info based on my experiences.
Good luck!

Re: So disappointed
Your chances are greater with IUI but not by much; it really depends on your situation. Some ppl get prego's right away with IUI's. I did 6 iui's and would up moving to IVF
