So confused - need help re: Clomid

I took 100 mg days 3-7, had SOF on day 12. Trigger was planned for day 16 (yesterday), but was cancelled due to small follicle size. RE did a blood test to see if I ovulated already and sent me home with a prescription for 200 mg of clomid (which I assumed was for next cycle).

I missed a call from the office this morning and now have not been able to get through to anyone for further clarification.

The message said "your blood work came back ok, so RE wants you to start the 200 mg clomid right away and then come back in a week from Monday"

I'm now CD17. I've never heard of taking Clomid 2x in one cycle. Has anyone ever done this? I really want to talk to someone about this, but no one is picking up the phone at RE office.

What should I do? Please help.

I did this last cycle, they call it stair stepping because your taking 2 doses in 1 cycle. Sometimes your follicles need a little boost, so the 2nd dose will help in that. It's perfectly safe, and done all the time so don't worry. In my case, the 2nd dosage didn't help so we had to cancel that cycle, but my RE said in most cases the 2nd dosage does the trick.

its not uncommon to take clomid twice in the same cycle if the first dose didnt work. it may not work the second time either in which case injectables would be the next step (next cycle). good luck!
