so agravated with AVENT bottles anyone else have this issue?
we always used dr. browns untill my daughter hit about 7 months when i realized she was enjoying feeding herself but couldnt get the hang of holding a bottle... so went out and purchased the Avent 9oz bottles with the attachable handles... well this pair has been a god send.. she holds her own bottles feeds herself and ENJOYS it!!!  we also have the training cups 7oz. and low and behold... THEY ARE ALWAYS LEAKING and i dont mean just a little drip drip from the nipple i mean POURING out from under the neck of the bottle as if i never screwed it on!   i cannot tell you how many times ive had to change her clothes because she is soaking wet , and how much of her neutramigen we have wasted, at least 1 full bottle a day gets wasted and its NOT CHEAP! im getting so darn fed up and i dont know if its just me or something im doing... im trying to contract the company to see if there is somehting they can do because i LIVE by these bottles and would be completly lost with out them but i cannot stand to waste any more formula nor the clothing changes!

yes this happens if they are too tight
undo the top and close it JUST enough, do not overtighten

the directions say not to over tighten, however, I have the leaking issue when I don't tighten them enough so I don't know But I do love the bottles and will continue to use them. Haven't had one leak in awhile .

I have the answer. We had this happen until we read that we should wet the ring and nipple before putting them together, then wet again before screwing on bottle. It seals them better. Hasn't leaked since, and DD holds her own bottle since 5 months.

My sis had the same problem she was annoyed, she changed the nipples and they are perfect now. She read that it should be changed every 3 mos.

too tight and not wet...like other PPers mentioned have always been the prob here and once we fix either or both - problem solved! IT is just highly annoying when I catch it too late and there is milk everywhere! UGH!

I had them when DS was younger and I hated them. No matter how loose or tight I made them, they always leaked.

I called Avent about it and they sent me new bottles. If you have the amber colored bottles (i did) they now make white ones with an extra piece that completely stopped the leaking problem. Both my friend and I called the company and they replaced our bottles. HTH
