So...

I went for that interview 2 weeks ago this Wed.

I thought the interview went really well- and def. thought I wouldve heard from them by the end of the week...

I sent my Thank you letter out the very next day, and since I still havent heard anything- today I did my follow up call...

The women immediately was like "Oh Hi Marissa- its me So-so" (she knew who I was right off that bat- no need to look up my application or resume!) She said that shes been meaning to get in touch with me, and that Im her strong lead and shes leaning towards hiring me- She said that shes just waiting to set up a 2nd interview with the area manager (whose office is in Jersey) she then went on to say how she really likes X,Y,and Z about me...

She said she should know when the AM will be in NY, and an apt./ date for me sometime this week... and that she'll give me a call...

Of course I say great- let me know and we hang up...

I call DH to tell him- and he basically shuts me down- saying that I put her on the spot, not to get my hopes up blah blah blah....Basically she was just BSing her way off the phone with me

I was so excited and now he has me 2nd guessing myself...

I mean- would've she really went into so much detail with me- and make up such an elaborate excuse if she wasnt interested in me?

I would think if she felt uncomfotable and was looking for a "nice" let down- she wouldve said- Im still hiring- I let you know... thats it?!

What do you guys think?


I swear- I know DH just dosent want me to get my hopes up- but I think there was a lot of ways to better word things!

I don't think she was BS'ing you at all. If they had no interest in hiring you but were not ready to say it yet, you would have gotten a "We are still interviewing and will let you know" type of reply.
