Snack ideas

DD is 12 months but still does not have her top teeth! I'm starting to run out of healthy snack ideas, things to send to daycare. I can't give harder things (like goldfish) yet to her but she loves table food.

I'd love any ideas you have!

Also, can I still give pouches regularly or is that like regression if she's so used to table food?

You can absolutely give goldfish without the teeth. They gum food and don't need the teeth to chew.

Adults can eat without teeth.

ITA. DS is getting his top tooth now but has been eating gold fish for a long time now. Other snacks I feed him - Cheerios, veggie straws/chips, yogurt melts, bananas, cut up clementines, animal crackers

You can still give pouches, too, but I find that they don't fill DS up.

DD is not a big snacker but when she does snack it's usually dry cereal, kashi cereal bars (banana choc chip is her favorite), yogurt pouches, or goldfish. As far as hard things, as long as it's something small enough she should be fine. She can mash things with her gums if she doesn't have molars yet so as long as she doesn't have to bite off pieces she should be fine.

Re: Snack ideas

My DS is same with only bottom two and will be one next week. I am nervous about goldfish but also try not to give him processed stuff like that. I make muffins that are sugar free. He will eat one a day. I also have a bunch with honey that I will start making after a year. The recipes yield about 12 so I just freeze them and take them out that morning or night. He does eat Cheerios though also. FM if you want recipes!

Just an FYI - they make "baby" Goldfish that are smaller. They are also the ones in the 100 calorie snack packs, so you might prefer giving those over the regular ones. But again, babies don't need teeth to chew the crackers.

DD is obsessed with puffs. Not the kiddie ones, but the adult ones like Bearitos. We get them from Whole Foods in Veggie and Cheese.

She also loves the Amy's organic bunny snacks. They are similar to gold fish, but a bit smaller.

As for pouches, those are fine. DD eats those every so often.

It's amazing what they can eat when they set their mind to it! We were at my mil's and the big kids were eating doritos. My 8 mo was very interested, so when the bag was left unattended on the coffee table, he crawled over, pulled himself to standing, peered in to the bag, which he was at eye level with, then reached in and grabbed one. He tasted it, made a face, then realized he loved it! He then proceeded to polish it off, quite a feat with only two bottom teeth!

But to answer the op's question- pirate booty is good because it dissolves easily. Also mum-mum's.
