Re: smith point/west meadow
Smith Point is a county park, so it's not free. i would avoid ocean beaches this weekend because of the rip tides

West meadow is free if you live in brookhaven - i was there yesterday. It was windy but beautiful. Great for little kids b/c of the sprinkler park and size of the beach. I would go to west meadow.

110% West Meadow.
First off, its free for Town of Brookhaven, secondly, the waves on the ocean are out of control whereas the sound won't have a problem.
It may be busy though

We love West Meadow and we're actually heading there later today. Kaydyn loves the sprinkler park.

We love Westmeadow, especially in the later afternoon.... low tide is awesome for the kiddies.... DS loves the sandbar and just exploring in the shallow water.
