Slow responder?
I'm on Gonal-F (75 IU).
As a little background, my AMH levels which show ovarian reserves were 12.0 (RE likes to see 1.0 which means a sufficient ovarian reserve) - so we are being cautious with the fertility meds so that I don't overstimulate or hyperstimulate - not sure what you call it!
Started on CD 1.
Estradiol: CD 4 - 71 CD 5 - 91 CD 8 - 92!
It only went up 1 from Tuesday to Friday! That can't be good, right?
They want me to up my dosage to 112.5 IU.
I'm confused Do you think it's bad that my Estradiol isn't increasing?
I went in for an ultrasound on Tuesday and today. Tuesday they couldn't really see much... today, they said there were numerous follicles on each side - but only like 2 bigger than 10mm - and said that no eggs were "committed" to the cycle yet.
Can anyone help me understand this? How many follicles would be a good amount on each side? How much should my levels be going up?
Thanks for your help as always!

Re: Slow responder?
I'm a little confused...your ovarian reserve numbers are high, but they are worried about hyperstimming?
I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but with the information you have given I'm guessing your numbers aren't going up nearly enough which is why they are upping your dosage of Gonal-F. I'm actually surprised they aren't upping it more, but then again I'm not an RE.

The RE said basically that he likes to see the AMH at 1.0 which would mean that I had a good amount of eggs. Mine was 12.0 meaning that I have a LOT of eggs - so he was worried that I would recruit too many if we started with a high dosage. Does that make sense?

Re: Slow responder?
Okay...that makes more sense. I'm assuming you have PCOS? Either way, they are starting you low and will increase. What happens is they want to get enough but not too many follicles around the same size. So in a way it's good you don't have any taking off...the tough part is that since you seem to have a lot already, they may all start "exploding" at once....this is what generally happens to me, albeit in less time.

No PCOS - they said maybe a mild case, but I have none of the symptoms (no "string of pearls" or cysts on my ovaries, etc.).
I'm in my mid-twenties... not sure if that makes a difference with the ovarian reserve.
Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it!
Also, how do you know if you are overstimulating??

Re: Slow responder?
You won't know until the end or after. If they see a ridiculous amount of follicles or your E2 levels climb over 3K, you are at high risk of OHSS. It won't happen until after trigger or retrieval. Some RE's will cancel the cycle if it looks like you will hyperstim.

Okay thank you.
I feel like the PA today said she said 10 on one side and 13 on the other - but that they were very small. She only measured I think 2 of them...
So you think I'm okay for now since my E2 levels were still so low?
