Sleeping on your stomach...
Okay... so I am just over 10 weeks pregnant and my husband said that I should no long sleep on my stomach or my back. He said that because I have a bulge as of yesterday. Do you agree with that?

Re: Sleeping on your stomach...
I slept on my stomach until it was no longer possible. I think I finally gave it up at 15 weeks.

Re: Sleeping on your stomach...
Week by Week says you shouldn't lie on your stomach after 15 weeks. I did until about 16 weeks or so. I had a bump but it wasn't uncomfortable until then.
I hate not sleeping on my back. I always wind up that way anyway. Last night I woke up to DH trying to roll me over. I don't think it's a big deal at 10 weeks.
The reason behind it is because the weight of your uterus puts pressure on your vena cava and reduces your blood circulation. But honestly, my mom was totally shocked to hear this when I mentioned it last week, so I don't think sleeping on your back is worst thing you could do.

Re: Sleeping on your stomach...
I just asked my doctor about this last night and he said sleeping on your back and stomach are fine as long as you can do so comfortably. When it is no longer comfortable switch to your side.

Re: Sleeping on your stomach...
I'm 24 weeks and I still sleep on my stomach. It's the only way I can fall asleep and since I've been sleeping so badly lately I'll do anything to fall and stay asleep. I'm going to go out this weekend and get a body pillow though so I can support my stomach and not sleep fully on my stomach and hopefully I can still fall asleep that way.

Re: Sleeping on your stomach...
I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and I still sleep on my stomach, well, kinda half on half off. If you put a pillow under one leg and prop yourself up kind on your stomach/side you should be fine.
I find that every day it gets a little harder to sleep fully on my stomach.

Re: Sleeping on your stomach...
I slept on my stomach until I couldn't any longer which was probably about 15 to 16 weeks. My doctor never said anything about it.
