sleeping on stomach /food -sleep schedule questions
my 8 week old is still waking up every 2 hours (sometimes 3) for food even though what he is eating is increasing. He started from 2 oz to now 4 oz every 2-3 hours this past week. Is this what he should be eating now? (He was born a month early and IUGR baby-not sure if that makes things different?)
I know if I hold him/stomach to my stomach he sleeps longer - sometimes he'll be having a hard time falling to sleep and fussy from being so tired and the second I put him on me he'll fall asleep.
Last night the grandmothers babysat, I came home to him sleeping in the bassinet on his stomach. The first words of my mother were "You're an idiot if you don't put this baby on his belly to sleep. He loves it" I don't mind if he sleeps on ME on his belly where I can watch his breathing but even if they are "watching him" in his bassinet I feel like it takes one second to stop breathing. Am I overreacting?
When can babies go on their belly? Should I do this and get one of those movement monitors?
