Sleeping on a cot at daycare...
So daycare has Bella sleeping on a cot they are transitioning them...yesterday they said she laughed and made it a game, and they put her in the crib for a nap.
Today they put her in the crib, but she wanted to do what everyone else is, which is sleep on the cot She slept for over an hour. She is getting SO big, so freakin fast...I wasn't even thinking about a bed for her yet (well, I was thinking but not planning on any action any time soon)
where do I look at beds, I want to match it to her dresser and it's light wood...?
I am so happy, I am sad.

Re: Sleeping on a cot at daycare...
bryan sleeps on a cot too! When I signed him up for daycare I told them that there is no way that he will sleep on the cot. I can barely get him to sleep in his own crib. Anyhow, sure enough after seeing all the other kids doing it he wanted to as well and now he sleeps like a champ at daycare. Peer pressure I guess-lol!!! Im still having him sleep in his crib at home though, Im not rushing that at all. he hasnt attempted to climb out yet so until that day comes Im not moving him to a bed. So i dont think you neccessarily have to switch her just yet. I cant imaginegiving Bryan freedom to roam around while im sleeping just yet

my thoughts EXACTLY...Bella has made zero attempts to try and climb out of her crib, so I am in no rush...I just knw it's gonna be sooner rather than later, so I like to prepare.

Re: Sleeping on a cot at daycare...
Noah is only 16 months and he sleeps on a mat on the floor! Apparently they finish lunch and the kids all go to a mat and go off to sleep! I can hardly believe it...but they say he sleeps!! He does sleep in a crib at home, I can't see him going into a big boys bed anytime soon!

Re: Sleeping on a cot at daycare...
By the time Delaney was 2 we had her in a twin bed because of day care and the cot situation. I too was like oh my baby is growing up......it happens way faster than I ever imagined.
We went to Penn furniture and ordered all new furniture for her because we knew Peyton was going to get her "nursery" furniture so Delaney got the new furniture.
If you're planning on having more, maybe you might want to consider that as well....keep the baby furniture the same and get Bella all new?

Andrew's on a mat at day care also. He was on a mat even when the other kids were on the cot, b/c he kept falling off . He sleeps 2 hours that way!
I wouldn't transition to the big bed until she tries to escape her crib. Once they get that freedom to roam, it's not as easy!

Re: Sleeping on a cot at daycare...
hmmmmm, new furniture. Maybe. We are planning on more, but not for a bit. I love the light wood we have now, so I am thinking we would have that for both anyway...it's just a bed and a dresser, so it's not a ton of furniture...
I don't know...I was just looking on the Raymour site and the freakin headboards are twice the size as Bella.

Re: Sleeping on a cot at daycare...
We bought a sleigh be for Delaney and I know what you mean about the size of them.
We also didn't get a boxspring and mattress. We got a thing called a bunkey board and a mattress. Basically it's a flat board so it's not as high off of the ground. We also bought the "bar" so she doesn't fall out. She's in the bed over a year and I still have it on there.
