sleep training and teething?

I sleep trained my 7 month old DD last month and all has been smooth sailing, but she has been cutting a tooth since Saturday (i dont remember it taking this long with DD 1) and she has been freaking out at night in her crib, to the point where she sounds like the girl from the Exorcist! I gave her Motrin and used Orajel, and tried to let her cry it out, but the crying got worse and wouldn't stop. I have been forced to go against the rules and pick her up and nurse her, and last night the only thing that would calm her down was to sleep in my bed. Chat Icon Now she is sleeping in her swing. I don't know what i am looking for-- reassurance that she will go back in the groove soon, experience, etc. I am losing my mind.

Re: sleep training and teething?

Sorry, I don't really have any advice, but my DS who is 11 months now has been going through periods like this since he started teething. He's a mess for 5-6 days and then good for 9-10 days. It's not been too fun. I got more sleep when he was a newborn! It has to stop eventually though right?? Chat Icon
