Sleep Problems with almost 2 year old
DD never, ever, gave us a hard time with bedtime. Over the summer she was crawling out of the crib so we had to go to a toddler bed, she resisted for 3 nights but then it was smooth sailing, sleeping from 730 till 7 am every night.
2 weeks ago, it started. She really was fighting us at bedtime (and would end up falling asleep on her floor by door ) That wasn't too bad but then a few nights later she would wake anywhere from 330 -430 and want to come into our room. We now just do bedtime routine and hightail out of there, and now she will sleep within 5 minutes in her bed...
We also started potty training (she was showing signs she was ready) so amongst all the things she says to get us in there she almost always says she has to go poo poo, in which case I feel bad leaving her...
We have stopped giving her milk right before bedtime and that has helped- but she is still getting up crying. I am not against CIO in fact I think it may be our last resort bc when we do go in "quiet without talking" to put her back into bed she flips her lid and that to me is worse than her whining on her own.
I am thinking of getting the clock that says when its "OK" to get out of bed, has anyone had success with it?
Lastly, naps are horrible. At daycare no problem (because they are right next to her) and when my mom watches her they nap together on couch (thanks nana). Yesterday she cried for a 1/2 hour then fell asleep on the floor. Right now she is asleep on couch (she fell asleep after lunch when I had my back turned)
TIA
