sleep positions
I know that it's recommended that babies sleep on their back, but my dd has such a startle reflex that she wakes herself up ALL the time. We swaddle most nights, but today after BFing she fell asleep. She looked so comfy on her side that I put her in her crib that way in her sleep positioner. She slept so well. So, my question is, is it really bad to have your baby sleep on their side and not their backs? Do any of you put your babies on their side or stomach? TIA

Re: sleep positions
I was told to have ds sleep on his side when he was born. Are they recommending the back again? They change all the time

Re: sleep positions
From the beginning we wedged a rolled up receiving blanket under DD when she was swaddled like they did in the hospital, this turned her slightly on her side.
At about 4 weeks we started letting her sleep on her tummy.
She also had a startle reflex that woke her constantly and now at 13 weeks I think it's starting to disappear. She sleeps 9-10 hours in a row at night so I'm going to keep her on her tummy.
If we had ANY of the major SIDS risk factors I would have kept her on her back.

Thanks so much! What are the SIDS risk factors?
