Skull mugs as party favors?

Don't want offend anyone but do you think some parents would have a problem with this? I plan on filling with Halloween type treats. It's a large 16oz plastic mug. It's for 7 year age range. Lol you just never know sometimes.Chat Icon

Skull mugs as party favors?

I would be fine with it but I remember a thread about skull things and there were bunch of posters who are not fans.

I would not be into that, sorry. When I first read the post, I was imagining a cutesy plastic type thing with skull faces on it and I was gonna say for a Halloween thing, I'd probably be ok with it. But then I clicked on the picture. That is really really creepy and way too realistic looking. Sorry!

While it wouldn't bother me, I am sure there are some that would be bothered by it, and I can understand why. I'd suggest going for some kind of jack-o-latern or ghost type thing instead. Even a cartoony-type skeleton would probably be better received.

I quoted the wrong post. I meant to quote the one about there being posts on here that people really dislike skull clothing.

I'm not "offended" by skull clothes but I don't particularly like them. I think it's kind of morbid or something.

The mug is adorable though. It's a Halloween themed favor. So imo it's very different than the debate that was on here about skull clothing.

Re: Skull mugs as party favors?

I say do it. If a parent doesn't want their child to have it, they can dump out the candy and dispose of the mug when they get home.

I do not find it morbid at all. Skeletons make me think of Pirates and Goonies. I'd say no if it was for 4 year olds, but I think it's ok for 7 year olds. They are going to see lots of skulls and witches on Halloween, and rather them think it's fun than scary, IMO.
