sketchy situation...

DH and I really fell in love with this house, but I have access to public records, and the house was sold in 1996, resold in 1997, and then that owner had it on the market for six years (WHY?!) and sold it to the current owner last March, who flipped it and is now selling it (he never lived there). Do you think that this is strange? Also, it has a built in pool, which is a mess and the owner will fix it, but the concrete all around it is buckled and broken. We have no idea how this could have happened. Any ideas?

doesn't sound good, but I would worry about the pool. It sounds like it has a lot of damage, right?

If it is an inground pool then all that buckling and cracks could be from maybe pipes that have bursts. Those pipes for the filters need to blowout just like an inground sprinkler system. My parents had that problem with one of the areas but my dad fixed it. I would move on. Pools can be a big headache, especially if it is inground and if it is a mess now then they just might do a patch job to sell it.

Re: sketchy situation...

Be careful the current owner didn't buy it for all cash and didn't care about updated permits, c/os and such. It sounds shady. I would probably walk away unless I knew up front that everything was in order BEFORE I signed contracts.
