size and quanity clothing
Hi All! I need advice and have no clue about clothes.
I am being induced at 38 weeks. They are estimating the bay btw 6.5-7 lbs.
I have 8 newborn sleepers and 10 0-3 month. Is that too many? Should I exchange some for larger size like 3-6 months? How long do they wear 0-3 months?
TIA Jamie

Re: size and quanity clothing
I had a very big baby, so my answer may be VERY different.
Steven was never in newborn and was in 0-3 for 2 weeks. then he was in 3-6 for a month or a little more, then he practically skipped 6-9 and was in 9-12 for quite some time (4 or 5 months).
So, I think 10 sleepers is really good. No more, no less. Do you have a washer/drier? Because you want to figure about 2 a day. I'm thinking since you will most likely have a smaller baby, you will stay in he 0-3 longer and the 3-6 longer, so you'll get more use out of them.

Re: size and quanity clothing
Sizing has been one of the hardest things to figure out...even now and he's 6 months.
DS was 8lbs 11oz when he was born so we didn't even look at the newborn stuff but he was in 0-3 up until around his 3 month mark...then we moved into 3-6 but that was very short...he moved to 6-12 by 5 months for one-pieces. He's very long but also lean so it's not unusual for him to wear 2 different sizes at different times. Right now he is 6-12 for both but a month ago he was in 3-6 for tops (not onesies) and 6-12 for pants.
My only advice..keep the reciepts and most of the tags on so that you can return or exchange IF you need to. But otherwise I think the quantity you have is good.

Re: size and quanity clothing
I would get some more newborn - DD was 9lbs 4 ozs and 20 inches at birth - she wore her 0-3 (which was HUGE at birth) until Sept - she is still in her 3-6 and still has plenty of room in those so I hope to get maybe 1 1/2 -2 more months out of them

8 newborn seems like a lot 10 0-3 sounds good but also a bit much unless you hate doing laundry 2 of my kids were in 0-3 for 3 months. Lukie was out of them in about a month 1/2 -2 months. Each kid is different. I would leave tags on and play it by ear.

Re: size and quanity clothing
It's so hard to say. My son had 1 newborn outfit, which is all that fit, but only for his first 2 weeks home, by then he was one month (2 weeks in hosp....also born at 38 weeks) I didn't buy anymore though, just used the smaller 0-3 clothes. Needless to say he is 2 months now and moving into the 3-6month. I TOTALLY regret taking the tags off the 3-6 month, because I think I have too many, just didn't realize until I washed and put in closet(UGH), I have a feeling he will be out of them in no time. The are alldifferent, and can grow like weeds. I know two people with babies the same age that are still swimming in the 0-3. For now it sounds like you have enough. You can see as you go. I also prefer the clothes without feet.....gets used longer. Bodysuits and pants are DS uniform.

Re: size and quanity clothing
I was induced at 37w5d. DD was born at 6lb 14oz.
At this point, she is finally growing out of the newborn clothes, so I got a good 6 weeks out of them. 0-3 is fitting good, and depending on the brand - some 3-6 also fit.
Personally, I never think you can have too much! There have been days she has gone through 3 sleepers, and some days she's okay in the same one all day. I try to do laundry about once a week.
