situation-advice needed
ok, so we put an offer in on a house and they accepted it. We made an appointment to get it inspected and they cancelled it on us, saying they haven't found a house yet and to wait. A week later their re agent called saying they found a house and to make an appt. to get the house inspected. We made another appointment and then they cancelled it again saying they were trying to decide between 2 houses. A week went by and they never called so my re agent called them and they said oh, we aren't interested in selling, they couldn't find a house they like. We were very upset, but then yesterday my husband see's the house listed on craigslist by their agent. He is also updating the ad on mls everyday so it goes up to the first page. The ad is still active and obviously for sale. It looks like they are trying to get a better price. But they accepted our offer, which was an excellent offer. What can we do? Do we have any rights here, we want the house. any advice?

Re: situation-advice needed
Honestly, I would walk away if I were you. If they are playing games like this with you now, I can't imagine what they will pull down the line. It's unfortunate and while 100% unfair, you are probably much better off walking away.
I verbal agreement is just that and you really have no rights until a contract is signed.
Good Luck to you

I am not sure who is playing these games-the real estate agent or the sellers or both. Of course my real estate agent is out of town when we need her.

That's incredibly stupid of the sellers and their agent. I'd probably be so mad that I'd walk away. Hopefully they sit on it for months and get an offer for way less than yours.
See what your agent says is going on.

I'd walk away....in this market, who needs to play these games? Plus if they are doing this now, who knows what nonsense they will pull throughout the rest of the process?

ITA....if they are not trust worthy at the beginning, what else will they try to do so you end up with the short end of the stick? Sorry

Send a letter. Give them a certain amount of days to schedule an inspection, and let it be known if it does not take place by a certain date, you are walking away. (be ready to walk) Honestly, i went through h*LL buying from someone who was trying to sell and buy at the same time....MONTHS..so really if they dont coroporate take it as a sign to keep it moving you will be better for it in the end. Good luck.
