Sinus Infection

Anyone have one while being pregnant?? I have one and I'm miserable. I called my OB and was told I could take Robitussin and Mucinex and use a saline spray.

What did you take? I've read that you shouldn't take Mucinex when pregnant though. I know it can't be DM.

I hate taking medication during my pregnancy, but I've been sick since Friday and I can't take it anymore.

Re: Sinus Infection

I have been taking Mucinex for my bronchitis and it definitely has helped. My OB approved it. I called him as soon as my Primary Dr told me to take it. Sinus infections can be dangerous so I would take meds now to avoid further complications.

Hope you feel better.Chat Icon

Re: Sinus Infection

I was sick a few weeks ago with a really bad cold and just toughed it out.

When I was pregnant with DS I had a sinus infection, my doctor gave me a z-pak, knocked it right out of my system!

Re: Sinus Infection

I had one a few weeks ago. I used Saline nose spray and the Neti Pot (highly recommend) everyday. I chose not to take anything, but Tylenol because I had a slight fever. That helped with the sinus headache and pain around my eyes. It took about two full weeks before I was back to normal. Feel better!

Re: Sinus Infection

I had one a few weeks ago and kept calling my Dr and they said tylenol and zyrtec. I also used a neti pot and saline spray every day and it still got worse. Finally 2 weeks later o was in do much pain it felt like my teeth were going to fall out, I called the emergency number for my ob and they called me in some zpack at 10pm.
