Similiac Sensitive 'help with Spit Up" Formula for babies

I bought this for my baby but OMG........it does not mix well at all! so much formula gets clumped in the nipple. What gives?? is it supposed to be like this?

I don't know about clumping but I just asked my Ped today about switching from regular Similac bc of gas and he said he hates the Similac sensitive and suggested Gerber sensitive or enfamil gentlease. He said something about the milk proteins being different in that one.

I think the sensitive for spit up has rice starch in it to make it thicker.

I found that if I whipped it up in the Magic Bullet for a few minutes- viola- smooth as silk!

I make a days worth in the Dr. Browns formula pitcher with no problems. If the water is cold it gets foamy on top - that why I make it right before going to bed.

I had DS on Enamil ARand that was giving him terrible gas pains and constipation.

DD didn't take to the Similac Sensitive and we ended up switching to Enfamil Gentlease. She hasn't had the gas/fussiness since we made the switch.

We use the RTF option, instead of powder.

Same here. DD was a big time spitter and I found that the powder make it even worse.

We used Enfamil AR and it mixed very well. Worked better than the RTF bc the powder is thicker so she didn't spit it up as much.

DS was on regular Similac Sensitive but, it had the same issues so I used RTF.

There were tips on the comment section of BRU.com as to how best to mix it - someone suggested a mixer like a pp or a whisk.

They are broken down more in the Gerber Sensitive and Gentlease which make it easier to digest (great for gas). The Similac Sensitive though is lactose free.
