Silly Phobia

Oh No!

I am scared of lightening (I know, I'm over 30 get over it). And I have to get in my car and drive to work for 45 minutes now! Chat Icon I'm scared!

I think fear of lightening is a good fear.

I think I read somewhere that you are safe in your car b/c of the tires - it grounds the current or something. But you have to hop out of the car and land on both feet. I am not sure though Chat Icon

I love thunder and lightening. Last night it was doing that around 4am and I just layed awake and listened to it.

Close, but it's not the tires. Tires aren't going to prevent thousands of volts. It's the fact that you are in a metal cage that protects you. Electricity takes the path of least resistance, and it's much easier to go around the metal cage, then leap through the air through the center of the car.
