silly nursery question

So we ordered a crib, a nine draw dresser and a wardrobe for DD’s room. The nine draw dresser is going to have a changing pad on it which will take up most of the top of the dresser and a basket to put all changing necessities in and I think the wardrobe is to high to put something like a lamp on. Anyone have a similar situation? Where are you going to put a lamp and stuff like that?

Once all the furniture is in with the glider I am going to see if there is enough room for the matching nightstand and that will solve all my problems but for now I don’t know if there will be any room and I don’t know if DH is going to go for spending over $200 on the nightstand.

I know this is silly but I just keep thinking about it.

Here are the 2 pieces so you can get a visual of what I am talking about.

Thanks girls

Re: silly nursery question

never thought about that, but we will prob have the same dilemma!

we got the changer/dresser and the wardrobe too! hmmm....

will the lamp be the only source of light?? is it the one that comes with the bedding set? maybe you can get a tall stand up lamp instead?

there is no overhead light in the room as of now - we bought a ceiling fan with a light and i am hoping the room will support it

but i would think you wouldnt want a bright light all the time, no?Chat Icon

We had recessed lighting put in with a dimmer switch and also a ceiling fan with a light.

Who is installing your ceiling fan? They do make remotes with the a dimmer switch on it that is installed in the base of the fan. I have this on my living room fan. It's awesome! We got it at Lowes.

We have no ceiling lighting in DD's room and same problem as you...we just have a dresser with hutch and the crib...no armoire or night table or anything. We just got a floor lamp...
it's next to the glider and it's perfect.

This is what I plan on doing. Hope to find something cute at Homegoods or somewhere similar.

Re: silly nursery question

I love your furniture!! I think I saw that line at Behrs last weekend -- one of my top picks if it's a girl. I like the idea of a floor lamp -- nightstand is good to it can go next to the glider with a lamp and you can put things down on it when feeding her....and for when your DD gets older it'll be perfect next to her bed.

Re: silly nursery question

what about keeping all of your "supplies" in one of the top drawers, freeing up space on the top?

Re: silly nursery question

Sorry I'm on my phone so I don't want to quote

To Spencer - dh is installing it he is an electrician and the fan we got is not compatible with a remote

To jodeee
I thought about that too - I will have to see how much room is letlft in the draw

I do like that table just afraid it won't match well
