Silly Bottle and Diaper questions

It's been a long time since DD1 has been a baby (she is 7) so I forget everything!! This may be a dumb question, but how do I decide on what diapers and bottles to use? I used Huggies and Playtex dropins for DD but I don't remember how I settled on them and if I want to go that route again. Is it just trial and error or is there a reason you chose what you chose? Because I don't know what this baby will like, I haven't bought anything and that doesn't seem to be too helpful! So, what did you start with and why? How much/many do you suggest I get?

I got a few cases of huggies and pampers in nb and size 1. Reasons being target had an amazing deal and also I wanted wetness indicators for the newborn phase. After that I switched to luvs or sometimes huggies when they're cheaper. I see no reason to pay more when luvs worked just as well if not better for my girls.

Bottles were harder bc they were ebf. My first refused Avent but liked tommy tippee. My younger one would have taken anything. Both refused bottles altogether eventually though. There are some that are supposed to be good for gas but I don't know that I'd go for something with extra parts to clean if I didn't need to. Just keep your receipts and don't open too many until you know you really like them.

We used the same type of bottles, playtex ventaire. Hailey was amazing with those so it seemed like a no brainer...

Diapers. I just bought my first pack (so far we used what was in the hospital and what people bought us ... pampers i guess)... i bought the store brand because thats what i used for hailey and they are much cheaper (rite aid) i also use their brand wipes as well.

Trial and error... every baby is different if you were happy with those products then start there...
If i was having a 2nd i would start with what i previously used... and see what works with baby 2

We use pampers and water wipes. I tried huggies but didn't like them. My ped is ADAMANT about no wipes but I didn't want to use a rough paper towel on her tush so we use the water wipes (Target sells them).

We originally used avent bottles but they made dd gassy so we switched to Dr. Brown's which helped with the gas but have a million pieces and are a pain to clean. If you don't absolutely need Dr. Brown's I wouldn't use them.
