I make so much with it. Shirts, party favors, vinyl onto water bottles, wine glasses, school supplies, ornaments, etc. etc. etc. Sooo much you can do with it! It's a great design software also for making invitations, etc.

When I bought my Cameo a few years ago I doesn't get the Cricut because I thought it was ridiculous that you needed to buy expensive cartridges for every cut out you wanted. Have they changed their machine since?

Yes they have. You can now import any svg images into the software, which is free to use. You can use all system fonts. I do not design in the software at all and use a 3rd party program and then upload and cut. Easy peasy.
One drawback is that you must be connected to the internet to connect to the software, although this is being worked on and they have a new machine coming out in August that will have offline capability.

Think with the update in design space it doesnt have to be.. just printed from it without connecting my machine.

Sounds just like my Cameo, but I just cut and paste any image into my designer software and it will cut it on the machine. I can also use any font...I find a million on dafont.com. I don't need to be connected to the internet.

I haven't e he Cricut explore and love it. Can do anything on it. I make party decorations, shirts, invitations, banners, favor tags etc. I've never used the cameo but have read the Cricut is easier To use.

Re: Silhouette CAMEO
I've had the cameo for several years and I still love it. I've made invitations, banners, favor tags, wall decals for my DD's room. I have about a thousand fonts and can use them all.
Like Hofstra, I also chose the Cameo over the Cricut because I didn't want to have to purchase cartriges. Even though that's changed, I don't see the need to switch machines. There's nothing complicated about using the Cameo IMO.
