sign for hospital

Was just wondering has anyone ever made a personalized sign for the baby's hospital bed? I was trying to get ideas but I am having no such luck. I would love to see pictures if you did this. Thanks! :)

Re: sign for hospital

I had 2 pictures in their hospital bassinets. One was a picture of Landon and said "My Big Brother, Landon" and the other was my mom and said "My Grandma, My Guardian angel"

Re: sign for hospital

FYI....I just completed a rotation in maternity at St. Catherines and they were fine with people bringing in their own signs, but you had to put it on an index card (no plastic, wood, or craft type materials)... I guess incase the sign fell into the bassinet...

Good luck. I'm sure it will come out great! Chat Icon

I love this idea- I'd like to use it with a pic of my MIL who passed away

My BFF put a bible quote in calligraphy on a colored index card. We put that in his incubator (he was in the NICU for a month).

We also put a 4x6 pic of me and DH and wrote "mommy and daddy love you" in silver sharpie. We also had a 4x6 of our dog.

These 3 things were in his incubator and later, his bassinet. Chat Icon

I did, from a 5x7 index card. One for our dog and one for his big cousin!

THey were soooo cute and scrapbooked style. If I can dig them out of the archives, I will post them!!

Thanks ladies!! Some great ideas!! I will be delivering at St. Catherine's, too. How was your experience? I delivered my 1st at Winthrop and it was great..but now we live in Hauppauge. Julz- what a great sentiment...and congratulations on your twins. They are beautiful!!! How is Landon doing? My lil' guy is almost the same age as Landon(turned 2 in July)...curious how he will adjust. :)

Re: sign for hospital

The nurses made personalized signs for us on an index card. Each baby had their own 'style'. It was cute!

Everything is great! Landon is enjoying being mommy's helper. He gets a little jealous at times but overall it is going great.

Here is a pic of Chat Icon 's bassinet

The pictures were 3.5 x 5 inches so I wouldn't make anything bigger than that.

I actually haven't had the baby yet...i'm due the day before you!! That would be weird if we end up there at the same time!! Chat Icon I'm going to school for nursing and just finished a semester there for my maternity clinical experience. We worked closely with the nursery and L&D nurses and everyone was very nice (for the most part....every place has to have one or two sticks in the mud, right? Chat Icon )
