this might sound like a dumb question, but what do u use a sifter for. i know its used with flour, but what's its purpose

I use it to get a good sprinkle on my zeppoles!

Or french toast.

It just "refines" it a little bit and makes it less clumpy.

i think so. so if a recipe calls for 2 cups sift flour, u would just measure it and put it in the sifter?
