I'm really excited about it. I think it's time someone exposed the corruption in the "healthcare" industry. There are too many people who aren't getting the care they need. And that's pathetic in the richest nation in the world.

I respect him as a filmmaker and enjoyed Bowling for Columbine
However I feel as if he makes his movies purposefully tantalizing so that it stirs up buzz.....the topic alone should do that!

Well I think that's part of the problem. We don't watch documentaries in this country unless they are just as hyped as Hollywood films. There's a reason he's the most successful documentary fi;m maker in history. If he didn't make them exciting people woudln't talk about them or watch them. Also, I think it shows his passion, and I think if you can get people to laugh with you, they will see your point of view, and I think he's good at that, although sometimes he can push people away as well

i think what makes him so successful/controversial, is the fact that he brings to the forefront many issues that the government would rather be "swept under the rug" - *cough*corruption*cough*
Kudos to him for having the balls to make these films!!!! I don't know his COMPLETE bio, but in Fahrenheit 9/11, the scene where he's asking a Politician if HE'd be willing to send HIS son/daughter to Iraq, obviously hit a nerve. US Gov't hypocrisy at its finest!
Regarding "Sicko" - I read somewhere that The New York Post reported that the Bush administration, in addition to going after Michael Moore for filming scenes in or near Cuba, may now go after the 9/11 rescue workers he took with him to get the medical care they were denied by our own government. Talk about a slap in the face!

I'll see this move but not this weekend! I give him kudos for putting his money where his mouth is and making these films. I had some issues with one or two of the issues in his films but I think the health care industry definitely needs some attention!
