Shower Question

Was anyone able to have a gender-neutral shower even if they know already if their baby is a boy or a girl?

Even knowing boy vs. girl I would like to still have a shower that is not only pink or blue but rather yellow/green. I know it may not make sense to some, but this will be the only baby shower I will have and I'd rather celebrate the "baby" aspect rather than boy vs. girl. I have a feeling this wont be possible though.

The theme is all about what the host makes it. We do not know what we are having but my shower is gender neutral. I think you can achieve this by NOT saying the sex of the baby on your registry.
Depending on when your shower will be you can do a "spring" theme with those colors. Look up themes for shower and run with that! Good luck

I think it depends on if you have told people what you are having.

People will buy clothes that are not on your registry and if they know the sex then they will buy stuff for that sex whether or not the shower has a gender neutral theme.

As far as the big items I would make sure you register for gender neutral patterns.

We are team green and our theme is the colors of the nursery. Blue/gray and brown.
Even knowing the sex I think you can do gender neutral. I love the idea of a candy theme. That's what a girl at work did even though we all knew girl. There was candy everywhere, not gender specific.

I have found that if people know what you're having, the theme of the shower just doesn't matter. It's not like they'll KNOW the theme ahead of time - they'll just get an invite and that doesn't mean they'll shop based on the colors of the invite or theme of the invite, KWIM? If they know the sex, you are very likely to get lots of clothes for that sex.

Definitely register for all gender neutral stuff and don't mention baby's sex on the registry for those that don't already know.
