Shower Invite List
Are you inviting out of state relatives to your shower?
I will ask my mom/MIL but wanted to see what others are doing. I'm thinking the answer is no, but wanted to see what etiquette is.
These people were included in the wedding a few years ago, but I know they won't travel just for a shower. They aren't super close to us, and by out of state, I mean Florida, etc - not Jersey or Conn

I just made a list for my sister, and I am going to invite out of town friends. I doubt they would come, but I feel that it is a courtesy.

Yes - probably half of my guests were out of state relatives / friends. I was so surprised and happy they came!

I think my mom is inviting close family from out of state like my grandmother or aunt....or DH aunts and cousins in Cali....but mostly out of courtesy and so they have the registry info. I don't see them coming at all....even though some of them did surprise us for the wedding!

Just grandparents, a few aunts and one or two close friends. Most will come some it is just more of a courtesy.

We only invited those that were within reasonable driving distance, like NJ, PA and upstate. We didn't invite anyone who would have to fly bc we didn't think they would expect to be invited and we didn't want them to feel obligated to send a gift. We're not very close with any of our relatives who live far away though. I think it really depends on your relationship w the person. If you're very close with them, they may want to make the trip.
