Shower Invite Help...

Here's my situation...
I wanted a shower at my mom's house for a few reasons...more comfortable, etc. I also had a huge wedding shower of 86 people, so I wanted something a little smaller and personal this time around.

Originally my mom said she would do whatever I wanted, home or out. Then once we added all the people in...it was just too many for a house party. So, she was going to have it out. Now, I think she is having a hard time finding a place since it is around communion time.

Soooo...here's my dilemna. I want to cut down my list to make it easier for her. I have most of my coworkers on there. I own the business...so as a boss, I feel badly inviting only a few of them. Do I cut everyone off?? Or can I just have a few that I am closest to? Also, one person said she was going to see if everyone wanted to go to brunch and throw me a mini shower with the employees here. Then should I invite no one because who really wants to come to two showers for me?!?! Any advice is appreciated! TIA

Well, if you think they are going to throw you a shower at work, then I think you can omit them.

I always thought showers should be those friends/family closest to you, not just acquaintances. Are there people that you really are good friends with and them and others would understand why they were invited?

Re: Shower Invite Help...

I wouldn't invite them if you have a work shower too...and I would do all or none since you are the boss..some may feel annoyed that others are favored and got invited

Re: Shower Invite Help...

if they throw you a lunch shower with all your co-workers then i wouldn't invite them to your shower...but if you are really close to a select few, i don't see a problme with inviting just those you are closest with.

i would eliminate all co-workers. Most likely they'll have something for you anyway.

I agree that eliminating all co-workers is your best bet because they will throw you a shower anyway. Chat Icon

ITA! Especially since you are the BOSS, they will most likely host something for you on their own..

I agree! I would take them all off the list - that way no feelings get hurt. Plus, as the boss, you don't want to show "favorites" by only inviting a few.

Re: Shower Invite Help...

Thanks guys. I'm just going to invite a FEW people that I have been long time friends with that work for me. Otherwise...they got the boot! Chat Icon
